anthro fitting room reviews- act 2: blazers and blouses

Yuck. its POURING out today, has been since last night. at least all I have to do today is learn a semesters worth of criminal procedure that I never really bothered to read so maybe the terrible weather will be a motivator. But before I get into study hell I thought I'd post the rest of the reviews from my trip to anthro on friday. I'll try to pop back with an ootd and my usual monday health and fitness recap later this afternoon- but honestly, that might get pushed back till tomorrow if I get all caught up in study land. Hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!!

first up is The ruffled rice flower tank which has never caught my eye before, but I really liked in person, and it looks better on than i was able to capture in the picture. and the back, the back is adorable, I just couldn't manage to take a photo, so you'll have to settle for the stock photo from the website to showcase the blouses best feature. this is a small, and it fit perfectly, I think this piece runs a little small.

Next we've got the frill day blazer while you all saw on me yesterday. I am completely in love with this blazer for spring and summer. The frill trim is a great touch, and I love the sleeve length. This is an xs. I tried on the small too and the button laid a bit better than it does here but the overall fit was too loose. I'd say this runs true to size, I just have a really wide ribcage.

I tried on the rose mallow tank next, and I like it, but I don't think it looks like it costs $118, in fact, I think it looks more like something you'd pick up at express for $39.99. (hey, at least, I didn't compare it to forever 21.) This is a size 0 for reference.

I'm like turning over a whole new leaf with this odd, newfound love of stripes I'm developing. I tried on the meeting place tank and liked it so much that I had to walk out with it. this is an xs and the fit was perfect, fitted but not uncomfortably tight. I think the ruching/detailing does great things for breaking up the bold stripe and flattering a torso.

I thought I REALLY wanted the coil flower tank. Turns out I was wrong. I don't like the boxiness of the fit at all. this is an xs. I think this would work really well on a much curvier woman, but not someone with my build.

peeking lace blazer- oops. I needed a 2 maybe even a 4 not an 0 (which is pictured below) so I look pretty silly in this one. I do think, in the right size its a super cute piece and def. on my wishlist if it ever hits the sale rack.

  1. I just tried on the coil flower tank this AM .... it had so much promise but like you, I thought it was way too boxy and did nothing for my figure! It would definitely have to be belted. I passed! Anthro was pretty "miss" for me today.

  2. The blazer looks really wonderful on you! I'm glad you got it! As for the rest of the items, nothing really wowed me. Hmmm... The Rose Mallow tank in particular had me feeling apprehensive because I'm just not too into the metallic-y threads.

  3. I am really trying to refrain from more stripes, but you are really making me want the Meeting Place Tank. So pretty.

And the Peeking Lace Blazer is on my wishlist - not really practical for anything, but fashion really isn't about practicality, is it?

  5. Natalie, I own the Peeking Lace blazer and I actually think it is very versatile. I have worn it with dresses, jeans and shorts. I can totally see you rocking it with a nice pair of shorts! I did size up two sizes and it's fits great.

Meeting Place tank also looks great on you. Glad u got it!
