ootd and some random cat happiness

Happy friday readers! I'm about to head out and take my 2nd (of four) exams and then take a much needed weekend off from the finals hell and I cannot wait! This weekend is going to be filled with all sorts of wonderfullness. The weather is going to be glorious, Tonight we're going to one of my fav steven starr spots of drinks outside and then out to sushi, farmers market tomorrow, looking at a few apartments sunday, and most importantly and amazingly, I don't plan on opening a book all weekend, at least not a law book.

and to top off my general excitement about the weekend- wonderful boyfriend just surprised me with tickets to vampire weekend (granted its all the way in September) in NYC. I am beyond excited, I missed their recent Philly show and was bummed about it. I've been a fan since before they were quite the phenomenon they've turned into, seriously, I saw them play in a church basement for like $5 once and wish I could see them in such a small venue again, but nonetheless, I am super excited.

Does anyone have any great plans for the weekend?? I want to hear about them!

I got dressed in real life clothes (you know, not leggings, a beater and a hoodie) for the first time all week today (since I plan on going out directly from my exam and all) and feel so much better for it, its amazing what not looking like a bum does for my psyche. I wore my kind of beloved, kind of hated subway stairs skirt. I love the look of it, but its a bit too big and so I have to belt it or it always falls down, and I feel a little too fancy in it sometimes just because its SO puffy. But despite my issues with it, I love it to pieces. I also am busting out the rapunzel necklace (which appears to be sold out online now) for the first time and to answer a reader quesiton: It IS reallllly long. But it works at the long length with jeans. Here, I just pinned it back a bit (you can't tell with my hair the way it is.) and it works with the skirt too, at least I think so.

And this, this is why I never try to shake things up with my photos I came out looking like I'm practicing for a sobriety police stop and trying (apparently unsuccessfully) to walk in a straight line. awesome.

Look! its my other bathroom (lights much better in the morning there, why did I never realize this) I'm sure your all just as excited about this venue change for the photo as I am... really.

skirt- subway stair skirt- anthro
top- old, old navy
shoes- f21 (and shocking amazing and comfortable and have lasted like a year, who would have thought??)
bag- gucci horsebit hobo
necklace- anthropologie rapunzel necklace- sold out online, still available in stores, I think- the philly one had a ton as of last friday.

and finally I had to post a couple photos of my fav kitty being an daredevil (read: suicidal idiot.)

Nehru managed to get himself on top of our office door this morning, luckily whilst I was taking ootd pics so I had my camera out- enjoy (my lame ass attempt at lolcat funness):

"oh, hai mom, look at me, I'm on TOP of the door, how cool am I?"

  2. I have serious style envy. I wish I could wear heels the way you do. Anything over 2 inches and I'm a walking hazard. No lie. Nehru...love the "oh shit" expression. Priceless.

It was pretty inside, candles and good smelling stuff everywhere. I might even go back tomorrow and buy a cute little jacket I fell in love with! We shall see ;)

  5. Wow, HOW did your kitty get up there?! Sometimes their balance just amazes me. I think the skirt, especially with it so full on the bottom, looks really great on you! With the necklace, it looks so whimsical and cute! And sobriety test, hahaha...

  7. oh my god, I cannot believe your daredevil cat!!!

What a great outfit. I love that skirt. If you were walking a straight line for the police, at least you'd look good ;-)

  8. Would you mind telling me what size of the Subway Stairs skirt you have? I estimate that I am 1 size bigger than you are and I'm trying to figure out what size to bid on when and if this skirt comes up on eBay. Thanks!
