ootd x2- orange overload- and some pretties on sale at jcrew

Wednesday's are pretty much my favorites, mostly because I don't have class. They have become a sort of me day every week, sure I could be a good law student and study, but if the past three years have established anything about me, its that I am NOT a good law student. So what am I doing this afternoon? why playing mini golf, eating froofy burgers and spiked milkshakes at the new bobby flay burger joint, shopping, and attending boy's first "attorney's dinner" at his new firm (which he officially starts being an employee of at the end of the month, yay!!)

this is the plan for tonight (and I'm kind of worried this is a bit flashy for his first firm event, so I could chicken out and go with something a bit more business friendly, like a pencil skirt and cardi.... we'll see)

shoes- target, old

I've been craving some simple (ok sort of simple, lets just say simple for my obnoxious taste) tops for spring/summer and J.crew just started 20% of women's knits and tees, which of course sent me to their website to have a looksie. Here are my picks (note, they aren't all knits and tees but they are all on sale, what can I say, I got a little carried away):

perfect fit swirling petals tank- its a neutral, but its got a little bit of pizzaz which I like.

sunray sequin tee- in any of the colors really, but I think I'll be buying white and navy.
Photobucket

silk twyla tank- in the yellow AND the pink please

tissue ruffle tank- the color below is my fav, but there are lots of other nice options available.

vintage canvas bow tank- Love this one, it reminds me a lot of a juicy couture top that may or may not be available anywhere anymore

floral cabana beach dress- I know, not even a top, but so cute and on sale

  2. I love both your outfits! Your day look is just perfect - love the orange w/the aqua.
As for the dinner outfit, I do love it, but since it's with attorneys, maybe err on the side of caution and go more business friendly - I like the idea of a pencil skirt and blouse :-)
Is that J.Crew bow tank on sale cuz I love it!

  4. Love both your outfits. I agree with you, though, the Bustling Ave. dress might be a bit much with attorneys. I've been to a few lawyer functions (I'm not one, I work for one) and you will really stand out against a see of black. I think you'd definitely steal the show if you went looking gorgeous like that. Your initial hesitation is correct, it's about the boy. I hope this doesn't come off wrong and I apologize if it does.

But then again, you'd probably steal the show anyway, just because of how beautiful you are.

  7. I love both of your outfits, but the night look would probably be too much. It's good that you have a back-up plan, and I bet you'd look amazing in a simple pencil skirt and blouse too! And that dress is Billabong?! Who knew?!

  13. thanks everyone! and i did go more muted for the dinner- patterned pencil skirt and a cardi.

kim- it is indeed on sale, I ordered it myself yesterday, can't wait to wear it!
sarah- I totally understand why you wouldn't spend that on it, the cardi is totally not worth $90- I picked it up when they had 30% off sweaters and would def. not own it if it hadn't been for the promo, I do love it though!

Sara- thanks for reading and I'll be sure to check out your blog :)

Veronika- thanks! its actually essie mint candy apple on my toes :)
